[2009-04-27] Stasys Juškus Gallery in the International Art Fair ARTVILNIUS’09

Stasys Juškus Gallery is to present the artists it patronises in the International Art Fair ARTVILNIUS’09 that will take place in Vilnius this Summer. The Gallery intends to honour the first Baltic top-level art fair by introducing the representatives of Classic and Modern Lithuanian painting school. The event, one of the highlights the programme Vilnius - European Capital of Culture 2009, will be arranged in Vilnius LITEXPO Exhibition Centre on 8-12 July.

"Along with the artists we patronise, we seek to enable Lithuanian fine arts to clearly go beyond our country’s boundaries, therefore, the participation in the international fair becomes the point of honour not only for the artists but for the Gallery, too," - says Gallery curator Donatas Juškus. He clarifies that Stasys Juškus Gallery will present the works of both well-known classics and much younger painters.

The estimated number of galleries to participate in the first international fair in the Baltic States exceeds one hundred. The majority of the galleries will come from other EU member states, such as Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Italy, Portugal, etc. Galleries from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan will also present their artists. Guests are expected to come from the US, Canada and Argentina.

Stasys Juškus Gallery will present the art works of A. Baltėnas, V. Juškutė, S. Džiaukšto, P. Lapė, A. Gudaitis, V. Pakalnis, V. Kisarauskas and J. Švažas.
