Raimundas Sližys (1952–2008). Paintings, Watercolours and Graphics
Raimundas Sližys’ paintings open up a different artist’s world. It is recognisable but uncatchable like a hieroglyph dissolving in the distance. It is no accident that the discourse bears reference to the oriental aesthetics: like a true Japanese, Sližys lightly and accurately draws a contour of a figure barely touching the canvas. One move and here is an expressive profile. All what is irrelevant is rejected to allow the painting's space to breathe unrestricted.
