Exhibition of Romualdas Kunca paintings "Still-lifes"
In terms of his aesthetics, Romualdas Kunca joins that trend of Lithuanian painting that stresses the value of pictorial reflection as well as colour suggestion and richness, at the same time seeking to expand the immediate impression of nature by broad-brush, scenic interpretation of reality.
Portraits, still-lifes, nudes and landscapes constitute four areas of R. Kunca’s painting. His still-lifes are in particular memorable by their unique selection and interpretation of objects. Fragmented, close-up composition is very characteristic to this artist. By well-thought and meticulously selected positioning of objects the artist creates their interaction, close and somewhat lone monumentality of being, and contemplative routine.
